Summer has almost passed by before my eyes. Here's a picture timeline of our summer! We hope to have more to come, at least what's left of summer!!! Hope everyone has enjoyed their's as much as we have!

I celebrated my 25th birthday with family and friends, good food & drinks, and some awesome cornhole!

The Police Department and Sheriff's department had a Relay for Life team this year. They also nominated a member of the team to raise money to get 'Hosed Down.' Eric was the lucky one that got nominated. I had joked about talking to the fire department about being the one to hose Eric down. That worked against me, Sid Dye and my mother arranged that I get hosed down with Eric. Thanks guys!

We spent the 4th of July out on the lake with our friends, Brandon and Heather. We watched the fireworks over Patoka Lake. Always a great time!!

The next day we took a 2 mile canoe trip with more great friends!!

Summertime=F.O.P. golf scramble!!!! Sucyua and I were the beer girls.

Here's my first wedding cake I made for Eric's cousin's wedding!

The boys spent the night with Uncle Eric and Aunt Tara!!! We had a blast with the boys!

That's just a few of the things that's kept us busy this summer!!

Boy, is time flying past. We've already been home from vacation for a month. It's already almost JUNE!! This is by far my favorite time of year. Having the windows, doors, blinds open, hearing the birds chirping, windchime singing, sun shining (that's my favorite part), there's nothing better than good ol' summertime!

Summertime means birthdays, bbq's, golf scrambles, runs, hammock time, swimming, ahhh, the list goes on and on.

Yesterday, was our nephew, Logan's birthday!!! He's 2 now, even though he says he's 4. We celebrated his birthday last Saturday at his Mammaw & Pappaw's house.

Well, I better get busy outside.. :) Logan, I hope you had a GREAT birthday!!!! I'm so proud of you!!!

Wow, I have a lot of catching up to do!
Last week, Eric and I with our family took a trip to Destin Florida! It was amazing! Such a great time! It meant so much to our family with having Connie (Eric's Mother) being sick back in the fall. We had a really close call, however; she has a clean bill of health! Praise God! It definitely increased the value of our vacation. We didn't waste a minute!
While we were there and the purpose of the trip was to watch Eric's cousin get married on the beach! It was beautiful!
Here's a pic of the bride and groom post wedding! It was one of my favorite pictures. The ceremony was awesome on the beach. Perfect day for a perfect wedding. Best Wishes Amy & Chris!

Eric and I the night of the wedding. Beautiful sunset in the background. :)

Our family photo! Isn't it great? Connie even agreed to have a family photo op!

In my last post, I mentioned it was the anniversary of Eric and I being together for 8 years, but, when we got back from Florida, on May 3, we celebrated our 2nd WEDDING anniversary! WE MADE IT! We celebrated by going to the local Mexican restaurant for dinner, and going for a walk. It was awesome! I love my life!

I'm honored to have the greatest Mother and Mother-in-law! Happy Mother's Day!!! I love you both so much!

Happy Mother's Day to every Mother out there!

Anniversary

Today marks the anniversary day that Eric and I started dating!! I was a mere 16 years old and Eric was 20!! YIKES. Well, I was getting ready to turn 17 in June, but still that seems so young! However; it has been the best 8 years of my life. We've been through so much together. It's amazing it's been that long.

It seems just like yesterday I was a freshman in high school swooning over that senior boy in the lunch room who kept winking at me. (Now he claims he can't wink.) I would always go home tell my Mom how 'Eric Mills was SUCH a HOTTIE.' Mom says those were my exact words.

Eric and I didn't start dating until I was a Junior in H.S. Eric had been away to Vincennes for the past 2 years after he graduated H.S. I had almost forgot about my huge crush I had on him. I was in the lifeguarding class with my friend Brett, when in walked Eric Mills. I immediately started hyperventilating.... After I calmed down, and the first class was over, I had a class with his sister, Michelle. I went on and on to her about how he was so cute... :) Didn't think much about it, until the following Friday I was working my first shift at The Boat Loft restaurant at Delaney Park. If anyone goes down there, they know that the Police Officers are usually down there for Friday Night Fish... Well in walks Eric.... AHHHHH what's a girl to do? I have no idea what I'm doing at work, and to top it off Eric walks in.. My face is beat red. As Eric is leaving, the beginning to the end happened: He asked me out!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I was really going to go out on a date with ERIC MILLS.... seriously at 16, could you're life get any better? Well, 8 years later, I say No. He is my best friend, husband, and confidant. I couldn't ask for a better life.

911 Gives Hope- Guns Vs. Hoses

Saturday, Eric and I took a day-cation to Evansville for good laughs, great, food, quality time, and an awesome cause.

We had all day to just take the time and enjoy each other's company. We did take a quick detour to say hello to a long lost friend in Lanesville. Every year Eric takes this trip around June to pay his respects to a good friend and classmate from the Police Academy that paid the ultimate sacrifice one day trying to do his job: protect and serve. Whenever Eric takes this trip, I haven't been able to go, so today since this trip was to support his Brothers in Blue, we took an extra trip to Lanesville to visit Frank Denzinger. This was my first meeting with Frank. I just wish I had the chance to meet him on this side. I hear he was a wonderful man. We have his picture hanging in our living room. I admire his wife, Tara Denzinger, for being the strong woman and mother she is to continue to be after her loss. Not to mention we share the same name, as well as our sisters. Her sister's name is Tia, as well as mine. How ironic.

Once we got to Evansville, we went down by the river enjoying the weather, walking, people watching, and even checking out the Casino boat. While we were down by the river, we stopped at Dr. Jung's (the Dr. I work for) parents' restaurant. I can't even describe how delicious the food was!! It was better than P.F. Changs.

A charity event brought us to Evansville. It was put on by a group called '911 Gives Hope.' They put on a boxing match called Guns Vs. Hoses, which is police officers vs. firefighters. (Go Guns! I'm a little partial).

The opening ceremonies were awesome! They did an excellent job giving everyone in the stadium cold chills. The boxing matches were 3 rounds of 1 minute fights. Eric had a friend from Vincennes, that is a police officer fighting. Of course he won. He did great! We were so proud of him supporting the blue so well!
This is part of the opening ceremonies, where they are introducing the police officers and firefighters.
On one side of the stadium they had the police officer and firefighter on a podium, representing the group '911 Gives Hope.'

This is kind of hard to see, but, it's a police car with the lights on, and behind it is a fire truck extending the ladder with the American flag on the front. They extended it into the center of the ring for the National Anthem. They later announced that the flag had actually been over seas with our troops.

The SWOT members and Firefighters post National Anthem. You can sorta see the flag at the top of the picture.

This is Eric's friend, Chris Roe ( in the blue), boxing the lights outta the red! Way to go Chris!!

The charity event was absolutely amazing. Their community rallied together for such a great cause! Eric and I have decided we will make it an annual event! Anyone wants more info on it, just let us know!

'Look at all the people'

Eric had a once in a lifetime opportunity this week:

Yep, that's right, he went to the final game between Butler and Duke. He had the chance to buy the tickets, and I couldn't say no to him. He and Jimmy Strange went together. It sounded like they had a great 'boys night.' Well, he smelled like he had a great time, no I don't mean alcohol, I mean the dreaded WHITE CASTLE. Ugh... At 3 A.M. that's not what you want to be smelling. He was so proud that he smelled like the awful slider... His great Chief made it possible to go to the game. Thanks Scott!!!

Friday night, I had a girls night with my BFF Whitney, who lives down the alley from me. We had dinner at Backroads and treated ourselves to getting our nails done! :) Every girl needs a little pampering.

Saturday, before Eric had to go to work, we went for a drive down to Lake John Hay. I had never been there before and it was too beautiful to stay inside. I saw some cute little creatures sunbathing on a log. I would've taken some more pictures however; there were people on our tail trying to get out.

Eric got his bite suit in the mail this week. I'm anxious to see how Milan does with it! Pics to come later!

Everyone enjoy their week!

Easter 2010

What a gorgeous weekend we had!!!

Eric completed his day of training in Noblesville/Fishers area on Thursday. He had a blast!! He didn't take any pictures though. :( He did come home with quite the 'farmers tan.' He said Milan did EXCELLENT, despite the heat. Usually if Milan gets really hot, he starts breathing out his mouth and not through his nose, which is what he needs to use to be effective.

This weekend was just about relaxation. I was off work on Friday, hoping to sleep in, but my internal alarm clock woke me up at 8:30 A.M. Oh well, I got a lot accomplished. Friday night, had a lot of laughs with a few friends! It was a great time!

Today, Eric and I spent Easter lunch at Little York with his side of the family. His dad, Joe, made a great lunch filled with ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, broccoli casserole, and of course 3 layer desert! It was WonDerFul. Eric definitaely didn't get his cooking skills from his parents! :) They are excellent cooks! Eric is a master on the grill, not in the kitchen.

I always take the camera out to Little York, because you just never know what you might miss. We have tons of pictures of the boys and the miscellaneous animals out there. Laken, our oldest nephew, has recently got some ducks for his pond. He let them out on the pond today. And Logan, our youngest nephew, LOVES to ride the mower, or his motorcycle (big wheel). He gets really upset when he has to come in.... Needless to say, he was upset today...

I usually try to take a few 'sit down' pictures of them for the holidays, however; today, neither one of the boys wanted anything to do with pictures. Here's the best that I got!

Hope everyone has a great week!!

How nice it was so be able to spend some time with Eric tonight. It was a short amount of time, but anytime is always enjoyable.

We went for a quick jog, and Eric treated me to a homemade dinner of grilled cheese sandwiches. The best grilled cheese sandwiches you'll ever have. :)

Eric enjoyed attending the Mock Trial tonight at the Superior Courtroom at the detention center. After the trial, Eric and Milan did a dog demonstration for the kids to see. They did vehicle searches for marijuana and Chris Strange was nice enough to 'take a bite' outta crime with Milan by wearing a bite sleeve. Milan is trained in narcotics, building searches, aggression, and tracking people who are lost or who have ran from the police. Joe Keith Jr, a K-9 officer in Noblesville, used to work in Salem, invited Eric to train along with them near Indianapolis. The majority of those officers received their dog from Vohn Liche Kennels, which is where Eric hand-picked Milan. It's really nice that Eric can train with others who have the same training.

Eric's going to be fortunate enough to get a 'bite suit' for training purposes for Milan. Someone will be able to wear the suit and let Milan practice aggression for those bad guys... I'll say a pray for the person that decides to wear the suit. When he gets it in, I'll try to post some pictures.

Here's a pic of a birthday cake I did this weekend for a good friends' daughters party.

Maybe I should've taken a picture of my kitchen after I was all done....

Whatta Weekend

What a weekend and week it has been, and a beautiful one at that. Well, I take that back, I did wake up to the dreaded 'S' word on my car this week. Yes, I'm talking about snow.. Don't worry I won't say it again. It was all in all crap on my car.

Spring is here! I AM so excited. Flip flops, painted toe nails, capris, sunglasses, hammock time, longer daylight, need I go on??? There's nothing like a Spring night with your windows open and your electric blanket on!! I wasn't sure how cold it was supposed to get last night, but I decided to give it a try. I figured, if I get cold, I'll just shut the window. It was by far the best night I've slept all week! Eric wasn't too happy this morning when he had to get up. He was freezing. I refused to shut the window and turn on the heat for him..... He loves me!

Friday night I got to enjoy the company of my Mom, sister and best friend, Whitney for some good laughs and dance lessons. Whitney is quite the dancer, so we requested that she show us the Cupid Shuffle. She doesn't keep her audience waiting long. My mom got schooled on how to do 'Bloomington Club Style' dancing.. We couldn't stop laughing.

Saturday was a busy day of bank stops, grocery shopping, laundry, dishes, and baking and decorating. Then off to a housewarming party.
The housewarming party was an adventure in itself, well not the party, but getting to the party...First I had to go to a co-workers house in Georgetown so we could ride together. I thought I knew EXACTLY how to get to her house; well I MIGHT'VE been a tiny bit wrong, but not many women admit that they were wrong, and I'm not about to step up and be the first to admit it. Especially that my husband THINKS he was RIGHT.... ohhhh noooooo... not this wife/woman!!!!
So on my endeavours to get to Liz's house, I had called Eric to make sure I was going the right way, which I was sure I was. For anyone who knows Eric, he has no directional sense, I knew that when I married him and i love him for it; however I'm not sure why I called him. He insisted I was going the wrong way. I insisted he didn't know what he was talking about because I knew EXACTLY how to get there. I even hung up on him a few times...Anyways, to get there I had to take an old country road I was unfamiliar with. I was upset about being late and a little 'confused' on where I was , and wasn't paying a lot of attention. I was trying to be careful because I had the housewarming party gift in the back seat of the car. 2 bottles of liquor, and 6 glasses. Do you see where this is going??? So I was driving popped over a hill, got startled by this big blue piece of heavy machinery in the middle of the road, SLAMMED on my brakes (good thing I just got new brakes) and slide right, left, and back to the right to finally straighten up, well in the midst of all the braking and sliding, and large 'clash' happened... But I'm already late, there's no time to check for damages at this point. So I continue on to Liz's house. Get out to evaluate the damage. Well most of the 'goods' were ok, the liquor that being, however; the glasses, we only could salvage 2. 2 out of 6. The other 4 were sooo cute too.. Oh well, at least I didn't wreck my car and her alcohol was ok. So Eric, I won't completely admit that I was wrong and you were right, but I will say that I got there by one of the ways you told me. There's you're "I'm sorry." haha

Today-off to the gym, I'm trying to run a 5k this spring/summer with Eric, so I gotta get some exercise in. Then off to deliver the 'Little Mermaid' cake to Addy's birthday party!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend and upcoming week!

ExCitEd!!

So at first starting this blog, I was really unsure of how I felt about it. After browsing Facebook and seeing others who I know that have started their own blogs, I'm started to get really excited about it. I love reading about what's going on with others lives, as well as letting others know about our lives. It gives me something to do while I'm home and Eric's at work. However; I should probably be doing some housework, since it never ends...
It's amazing how quickly your clean house becomes so messy with only two people living in it. With Eric and I working different shifts, it's very hard to get things accomplished. We usually go right behind one another and make messes.
Because Eric works so much, I felt as if I should get a second job since I typically have a 3 day weekend, but not many jobs are going to let you pick and choose your hours. Working out of town makes it impossible to work during the week, not to mention, I usually never get off when I'm supposed to. I decided to take some cake decorating classes and pursue that as a second job (or at least try my best hand at it). This weekend, I have been making some shamrocks for a birthday cake on Wednesday (St. Patrick's Day).
Here are a couple of cakes and cupcakes that I've made:

If anyone needs a cake or cupcakes, just email me and let me know! I'm always up for a new adventure!!

Welcome!

It's funny how you think that you have so much to write about, then you decide to start a blog, and not the first thing has came to my mind to write about.... That always happens to me. Who knows if I'll have much to write about at all, but I thought it would be nice to have our out of town family to have a blog to catch up what's going on in our lives.

Yes, it's 3:00 A.M. and I am blogging... I find I have a bit of insomina on the weekends. I'm usually up waiting for Eric to get off of work, however; I should be getting some sleep while Eric and his dog are out. His dog is an alarm clock. It barks at anything and everything in our alley, and our neighbors truck. He hates it!! Between 5am & 6am every morning Milan (the dog) is barking... This dog is an absolute monster sometimes, but I still love him. :)

Last night (Friday) Eric and I went to French Lick's casino for a celebration of my grandmothers life. She LOVED to go to the boat. So Eric and I decided to take $20 and gamble for my Granny. Eric was on his last bit of money he was going to spend, and then we hit it!!! Well, you would've lot we hit several thousands of dollars, but we just won $82.00!!! We called it quits after that! Granny would've been so proud! This pic is Eric with our winnings and his new 'comp' card that you get at the boat.
